captain america was a bigot
Lulz. The funny thing is, in the recently released Captain America #602, Captain America (“Bucky” Barnes, a white man) and the Falcon (Sam Wilson, a black man) come across a what looks like a Tea Party protest of all-white people holding signs that say things like, “STOP THE SOCIALISTS,” “TEA BAG THE LIBS BEFORE THEY TEA BAG YOU,” and my perennial favorite, “NO GOVT IN MY MEDICARE.” Sam and Bucky are planning on infiltrating a domestic terrorist group called “The Watchdogs,” which are at least ideologically linked with this [Tea Party] group. Sam famously states, “I don’t exactly see a black man from Harlem fitting in with a bunch of angry white folks.” Marvel received a bunch of flack for this because it portrayed the Tea Party movement as privileged, fearmongering, and racist. Which, you know, it is.](http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_kzlk6lJf9G1qai0kvo1_500.png)
